Pad printing

It is the most common type of printing of smaller objects with motifs with smaller and more detailed dimensions. It allows printing not only on flat surfaces, but also on variously inclined surfaces or protrusions. Commonly printed motifs have dimensions of around 5-8cm. Pad printing technology allows for both single-color and multi-color prints. The advantage over digital technologies is the mixing of direct colors. The resulting color is not composed of dots, but is uniform and more beautiful.

It is an ideal technology for smaller surfaces – whether flat or shaped. If you have a printed pencil or lighter, it is definitely pad printing.

We have been operating pad printing technology for more than 26 years.

The gallery shows an example of printing on the body of a BOSCH drill. We can also print on embossed elements. The colors used ensure sufficient adhesion of the print and long-term durability of the resulting product.

What is pad printing and how does it work

Pad printing works on the principle of transferring ink with a silicone pad. First, the print motif is etched into a special matrix. Then, the ink is applied to the matrix and wiped off with a sharp metal sheet. Only the ink in the etched part remains. This is then applied to a pad, which is a piece of flexible rubber, and from the pad to the printed object. The technology is suitable for smaller areas, but thanks to the shapeability of the pad, it is possible to print even surfaces that are not flat.

For rotary objects such as cups, glasses or cosmetic bottles, there is only a limited space for printing with a pad machine. Rotary pad machines are minimally represented on the market and therefore rotary objects are printed “in parts”. It is always necessary to assess to what extent the deformation of the pad will be reflected in the printed motif.

Materials that can be printed

Plastics, metal, glass, paper, wood and others. The technology is particularly suitable for smaller but more precise prints.

Our pad printing machines

In our machine facilities you will find several single-color pad printing machines of various brands. We have machines with open and closed ink wells. With these machines we can offer prints up to 9 cm wide.

For multi-color prints we have a Morlock machine with the possibility of four-color printing with a diameter of up to 5.5 cm.

Reference

The core of our production is industrial printing. We print everything from functional parts of various machines to packaging products. However, we also print all kinds of promotional items.
